Why Military Camo Gear is Becoming a Fashion Trend
We know that models and celebrities are trendsetters especially when it comes to fashion. But now as the military dresses like the camo gears and tactical gears start to occupy the fashion trends, the military seem to take the place of these celebrities.
The new fashion trend that involves the military inspired outfits and even real military supplied dresses and uniforms can be still accounted to the efforts of some famous celebrities and trend-setters. This trend started when several entertainment icons start to wear military gears and apparel to give credit or to pay tribute to the military men who sacrificed their lives in war to keep the peace prevailing on all parts of the earth. The people who saw these celebrities on television and movies started to adopt the trend. At first wearing of the military gears and supplies are only limited to military servicemen. But seeing a profit in this trend made the designers and fashion businesses to dwell into the creation and sale of the military inspired clothing. And soon even the real military supplies and surplus gears are into sale for the civilians.
The military personnel and officers have their military gears supplied by the government. Most of their gears when not in use are sent to their families. And the new recipient of the gear can use it or sell it as a surplus gear. More and more civilians are choosing the military tactical gears and outfit not only because of its strong and benevolent appeal. These gears are built with stronger threads and materials to endure the situations in the battlefield so the extra strength of these materials always makes these apparels on top sales and at the same time keeping it in the trend.
The military supplies and surplus gears are available in the local boutiques and in online stores that specialize in selling military gears from the military supplies and surplus vendors of camo gears. Whether you like it because you are going with the trend or because you like its quality, the military gear is a worth keeping thing and donning it always gives the feel of being a true blue military personnel.

Fashion Design Clothing
If you have a talent for fashion design, and if you have ever desired to be the next Vera Wang or Donna Karan, you need to begin with basic fashion design clothing. Fashion design clothing and other accessories are created with artistic expression and skillful implementation. Fashion design clothing manufacturers are typically self employed and work for individual clients. Most of the great couture designers started the path upway in that manner, and have worked their way up into retail markets with mass appeal.
The History Of Fashion Design Clothing
Before making the endeavor in a career you will need to start with a strong background of knowledge about fashion design clothing. The initial creator of fashion design is Charles Frederick Worth. Working as a humble draper at first, he eventually established a fashion house in the city of Paris. Separating Worth from the seamstresses who worked along side him, clients would dictate to the seamstresses what they desired, and Worth would dictate to the clients what he thought they should wear. The word couturier was created to best describe him. Sketch artists were hired to sketch the clothing so that clients would be able to pick and choose the clothing they liked. There was far less cost involved in provided a sketch, rather than making the garments and risk the client not liking it after all.
France and Europe allowed this trend to grow and spread. London became the next destination for high fashion and magazines began displaying and printing current styles. . Chain type department stores would send buyers to the Paris fashion shows where they would purchase one or more garments to reproduce and sell in their stores at much lower prices. At this time, fashion had not become two distinct styles, haute couture and ready to wear. Most of the time, fashion design clothing manufacturers provided both types of fashion clothing. It was only after World War II that the roles of the manufacturers became sharply divided.
The clothing industry began to envision two sides of the clothing industry, clothes off the rack for everyday use, and the high fashion clothing from the runway. Comingling of the two styles seemed to fade away, with most designers beginning to select designing for one or the other. Times are very different today, as many couture fashion clothing items find their way into department stores all over the world.
If you desire a career in design, many of the original ideals still remain the same; even though the actual role of the designer has changed tremendously. There are many schools of design that will introduce potential career candidates to different avenues of the fashion trade. During the training process, the career minded students will begin to differentiate the different lines of clothing and begin to choose their career path. In most cases, designers will need to pay their dues to the industry before they achieve their career goals in the style of Wang or Karan. Work hard in the hard fashion industry and the rewards will come.

Vintage Clothes - Pitfalls and Care
Antique clothing is often beautifully made or it would not have survived so long. But lets remember that it is second hand designers all second-hand garments have by definition been worn before. As such you should always check particular stress points such as under the arms, zips, fastenings and look out for tears, moth holes and other problems. Some damage is perfectly repairable, but if the material is too worn, it will eventually disintegrate into nothing.
Vintage clothes often need to be professionally cleaned, watch the cost of this as it may turn out to be more than the clothes you purchased in the first place. Try your best not to allow them to get stained with those ever so nasty substances like grease and liquids like red wine or in fact anything that todays extensive biological detergents would have no problems removing.
Where you can wash, but be careful when using a delicate hand wash liquid as they usually contain chemicals that can increase the deterioration of vintage materials. Wash and rinse, rinse, and rinse again. When it comes to our trusted washing machines, again, common sense is a needed. Wash skin delicate at a warm to cold temperature, and hang out to dry, never, never, never tumble dry. I have always found that if you are unsure consult a book, there are quite a number of them on the market.
It may be possible to remove small spots but be careful not to damage the fabric. Before attempting to remove any spot you should always test the fabric, whether its spot cleaner, alcohol, water etc. Test in an area that is not noticeable. The removal of a stain successfully usual depends on the stability of the dye and its good to remember that red is the least stable colour so be extra careful with this colour. I would not advise one of the more modern stain removers as who knows what kind of effect that the chemicals used in these may have on your piece of vintage history. Rayon, velvet, acetate and weighted silk all of these fabrics, especially in older clothing can be quite fragile. You should not try to clean weighted silk in any way. Bring it to a professional cleaner. Older rayon and acetate become very weak when in contact with water. Alcohol can make dyes run in rayon and acetates. Cleaning fluid is your best bet for removing spots from these fabrics. Be kind and gentle with all cleaning methods. Wringing, scrubbing fabric weakens it. It is best to press water and cleaners through the fabric with the flat of your hands.
Sometimes the clothes you buy may not need extensive cleaning but they have an overwhelming and totally undesirable musty smell, An air ionizer works great at getting odours out of otherwise clean clothing. Just put the clothing in a fairly sealed room with the machine for a day or so and the problem is solved. This is especially good if it has a smoky odor to it. Be careful though, do not put items with rubber or elastic, or vinyl in with the ionizer. It will cause those materials to disintegrate!

The Plus Size Designers Marketplace
New plus size clothes designers are finding more and more fashion-aware women who demand the same access to designer clothes as every other fashion consumer clothing the market. The fashion industry is finally understanding that plus size clothes don’t need to have noisy colors, tawdry patterns, and outdated cuts. The plus sized designer market has evolved, and it can never go back.
There are over 30 million women in America who are size 12 or above. This group spends more than $19 billion every year on their wardrobe every year, and have gotten noticed by some of the hottest fashion houses in the trade. And why not? They account for 25% of the TOTAL commerce in the fashion industry.
What does this all add up to? Size should not, and does not, limit fashion.
Still, the further consumers are removed from population centers the more difficult it is to find retailers with plus size designers on their shelves as part of their regular stock. This is where the internet comes to the rescue - it has leveled the field and given specialty retailers all over the world access to the exact market segment they want. And more often, plus size designer clothes are being shown right next to the other sizes in online shops. This may sound trivial, but this was not always the case, especially in retail locations. The online integration of stock is viewed by some as a process-leader in the famous is, what happens in online retail leads what happens in brick-and mortar retail. The idea is, why make people feel different if all the data tell us they’re not?
Another problem that women of all sizes run into is the shortage of standard sizes in the fashion marketplace. To rise above this, consumers need to pay close attention to both measurement and size. In general, one or the other won’t get you the answer that you need, especially if purchasing from a foreign store. Usually, women’s sizes have a more merciful cut than miss sizes, so keep that in mind.
Until the fashion business makes amends with all their avowed enemies and standardizes their size charts, make sure you take a look at the measurements on everything you purchase. If you still have questions, ask before you click!. It could save you a daytrip to the post office.
Wherever you do your shopping, plus size designers are no longer kept in the back, basement, or 5th floor. They no longer use the materials that no one else will use, and they’re no longer baggy, mind-numbing cuts. But don’t take my word for it - go out and see for yourself.

Famous Antique Perfume Bottles
In the Victorian era, perfume bottles were very popular. In fact, it was during this period shoes the commonness of these bottles were starting to pick up. These bottles comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes and perfume was poured into a lady’s personal perfume bottle. However, by the end of the 19th century, the fashion scene has transformed these unique bottles into pre-packed boxed sets as they had become more popular and widely available.
Although the fashion scene had changed, the numerous famous perfume houses has not stopped their operations. They have increased their operations and produced even more exotic and expensive fragrances. These perfumes were very valuable as well as expensive, hence during and immediately after World War II, it has become largely unaffordable for many people. However, after the turn of the century, these perfume bottles have once again become very popular amongst the collectors because they are treated as vintage art pieces and antique perfume bottles.
Also, during the 19th century, it was also the period where designers of perfume bottles were given the permission to be very creative with their ideas of design. This was because of the high competition of that era. Major perfume house like Avon Cosmetics was one of the few who had invested heavily in the designs of their bottles of perfume. This company, which started at 1959, had produced some of the world’s most amazing and unique bottles that contains perfumes. Most people over the age of 35 will probably remember or maybe even had bought one of their perfumes before. The company designed imaginative containers in which they decanted lotions, perfumes and aftershaves. Every bottles of liquid produced by them was a collector’s dream. They had designs ranging from telephones and gramophones to cars and motorcycles. Of course, in this day and time, many of them are no longer produced anymore and they have obviously become more collectible than those which still are.
To add to the exclusivity of their designs of bottles of perfumes and lotions, some of these designs are produced for a time limited period only, for example, Christmas designs. These time limited period designs are generally harder to get because during the 1960’s and 1970’s, it hardly occurred to people then that these pieces will one day become a highly sought after collector’s item. Moreover, during those particular two periods, the mindset of “use and throw” is gradually picking up as a general behavioural pattern as things get more commercialized and the increase of people’s spending power. Perfume bottles were kept and displayed for only a short time while many other bottles are discarded after use.
It is because of this reason, that many of the unique designs that were produced are now gone. The remaining pieces usually fetch a very high price from online auction sites or collector’s auctions. However, to fetch the best price possible for your perfume bottle, it should be a complete set with the original box and both should be in a tip-top condition. Many people wonder if it is ok if the perfume inside these bottles are used. Collectors usually go for the bottle design instead of the perufme instead so even completely full bottles do not necessary fetch a higher value.

Pop Culture Icons
Pop culture icons can be people or even animals that have achieved permanent notoriety in the minds coco chanel the public and usually have made a significant impact on some aspect of popular culture. One of the earliest of these icons was Disney’s Mickey Mouse, whose logo has become synonymous with the Disney brand. Other Disney characters, including Donald Duck, Goofy, and Minnie Mouse have achieved iconic, or at the very least near iconic status.
Notable human pop culture icons include musicians and bands like Elvis, The Beatles, and Madonna. As mentioned in the paragraph above, cartoon characters are some of the most readily recognizable icons, and other of note include Miss Piggy and Bugs Bunny. Super heroes such as Batman and Superman consistently make pop culture lists as well. Comic book heroes and villains in general are often included, which makes sense if you think of all of the books, costumes, magazines, movies, and merchandise that have come to be associated with these characters, not to mention the comic book conventions.
Celebrities make up the bulk of those who have achieved perfumes status, but there are a few qualifiers, which include, the one name test, or being recognizable by their first name only, whether or not Halloween costumes have been designed in their likenesses, whether society has or currently imitates their sense of fashion or hairstyle, whether there was or is merchandizing paraphernalia bearing their name or likeness, and other criteria.
Some political figures also fall into this category, most notably former presidents including Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton. People who are quotable, that is, who have statements easily attributed to them, are according to research, more likely to achieve icon status. Political figures, because of their natural proximity to the media, may have an advantage over other groups likely to become icons. Of course, not all political figures become cultural icons, but if a scandal is associated with their name, it is almost a guarantee that they will.
Other groups or individuals who frequently achieve pop culture icon status are those who gain media exposure through their sometimes detrimental actions. This would include criminals, people accused of crimes with highly publicized trials, and people who have otherwise achieved a significant amount of negative, or less than favorable press.
Inventors, professional athletes, fashion designers, television characters, and celebrity pets have all achieved cultural icon status. What is popular is forever changing and evolving, and as trends are created and replaced, new pop culture icons will be created, and the classic ones will continue to endure.

Don’t Just Leave Your Shoe Color To Chance, Now You Can Choose The Color You Want
It used to be that if you were searching for a specific color of shoe you might have to travel to the ends of the earth to find them. One store would have the style you were looking for, but they wouldn’t have the color you needed. So then you went across town to another store that had the color you wanted, but in totally the wrong style. Often if you needed a specific color in a specific style you’d have to have them specially ordered, which took extra time and, of course, costs extra money.
Say goodbye to such hassles. This is the 21st Century where all your dreams can come true! OK, maybe that’s a bit of a hyperbole, but modern times have brought modern conveniences, and one of those modern conveniences are dyeable shoes. Now you can walk into a store and find the right style of shoe and have them dyed any color you wish. True 21st Century convenience has brought us the Internet and the World Wide Web which allows you to find the perfect shoes with the perfect color from the comfort of your home and have your perfectly dyed shoes delivered promptly to your doorstep.
You may not have known this, but dyeable shoes have been around since the 1960’s. However, it wasn’t until the late 1980’s that they became widely available. Even though they’d been around for a good twenty years or so, when you went into a bridal shop to purchase dyeable shoes for that important day, you were often only able to buy pumps. Apparently there just wasn’t enough demand to warrant retailers maintaining jewelry inventory of a variety of dyeable shoes.
Advances in dyeing techniques and a lowering of the costs of individual retailers doing their own shoe dyeing helped change things. For a long time it just wasn’t cost effective for stores to do a lot of their own shoe dyeing. It was easier and makeup profitable for them to farm out the work or special order the shoes. But once these advances came about, the availability of dyeable shoes bloomed. Whether it was the advances which fueled the demand, or the demand which made dyeing shoes more profitable, suddenly bridal shops and shoe stores in even the smallest of towns offered custom dyeing. Now you can get dyeable shoes in a variety of styles. It’s not just pumps anywhere. You can get dyeable Mary Janes, sandals, and even platform shoes. In addition to having many style options, dyeable shoes are now available in different fabrics. Satin, ultra-satin, silk satin, peau de soie, and others are now widely available.
There are basically two types of dyeable shoes: factory and custom. Both are “custom” in the sense that you can get almost any color you want, but factory dyed shoes are more color-fast then custom ones. Custom dyeable shoes are done in the store or at home. This kind of dye will bleed and stain if they get wet. The big advantage to custom dying is that you can re-dye these shoes. That’s right: they can be red for your brother’s wedding and white for your neighbor’s baby shower.
Dyeable shoes are now widely available. Find out more from your local bridal shop or shoe store. Look online, too. This allows you to find the best prices and gives you the most choices.

Who to Hire? Determining Which Pros Can Help Most with Your Project
When you have a problem with your car, you take it to a mechanic. Unfortunately, not everything in life is that simple. When it’s time to do some work in your home, there is a myriad of people you can contact. Here is a list of the people whom you could consider contacting:
1) a renovator or handyman
2) an architect
3) a decorator
4) a general contractor
5) an interior designer
A renovator or handyman is not licensed, nor is he likely to carry insurance. Any guarantees or warrantees that he may give you are only worth as much as either his word, or the paper it is written on, whichever happens to have higher value. By not having liability insurance, if anything at all goes wrong with the work, while still in progress or once completed, it is most likely that you will jewelry footing the bill to make things right again. Call a renovator or handyman for small repairs only.
An architect could likely help you attain the project of your dreams. But an architect is trained for architectural projects such as additions and new constructions. For interior projects, an architect is over-qualified and over-priced.
An interior decorator decorates. If you still feel the need you can call a decorator after the renovation part of your project is complete. A decorator has no formal education in design or building/renovating practices and methods, and will not be able to provide you with proper plans and technical drawings that should be available for any renovation project. Drawings provided by a decorator are not enough to go on in order to obtain a renovation permit from your municipality.
A general contractor can renovate, build, rebuild, modify… Contractors are licensed by a state/provincial licensing board, and are insured. They are trained to construct and build, not to design though, so projects of the same nature handled completely by the same contractor will often look very much alike, with the exception of the colours and finishes you have chosen. Just because a contractor is licensed and insured doesn’t mean that you should throw caution to the wind; obtain written price quotations and review and compare before signing anything. Ideally you should be provided a breakdown at least of raw materials (nails, gypsum board, screws, wire…), finish materials (tiles, paints, countertops…), and labour. The breakdown can also be done by task, such as general work, electrical, plumbing, et cetera. Make sure you have seen samples of all materials to be used. Look for anything that could have been overlooked, such as garbage removal, handles for cabinetry, and so on. Once satisfied, as for a written payment schedule, with the last payment being due at least one week after completion. The reason I put so much emphasis on caution with a contractor is because, aside from the horror stories we’ve all heard, your project is one of many jobs to him, and you are much more likely to be concerned with finer details than he is.
An interior designer is suited to any interior project you may have. They are educated to provide all of the information you need, including space planning/layout, colour schemes and decorating, material options, construction methods, and more. A designer can provide the blueprints/technical drawings for the contractor and for permits from your municipality, full-colour illustrations of how your project will look, samples of materials, discounts on many products, et cetera. A designer can even assume the roll of “project manager,” helping in the selection of a contractor, establishing a schedule, and acting as go-between for the client and contractor, making the renovation process much easier for all involved. A good interior designer is flexible, allowing you to pick and choose which of his/her services you require. Because the term designer is often unrightfully “borrowed” by decorators, very credentials and insurance.
Some construction/renovation companies offer in-house design services. In other words, designers that work for them and are available to their clients. This is somewhat a conflict of interests because the designer has to balance the needs and wishes of both client and contractor. However, at the same time it is often a preferred option to simply hiring a contractor because you will receive a different level of customer service than you would from a contractor alone.
No matter which professional you choose to call, before doing so you should sit down and establish what it is that you do and do not want as much as you can. If possible, show pictures from magazines, and don’t be shy to marriage your preferences adamantly. Make a wish list that will serve as a starting point and can be refined later to meet your budget and/or space allowances.
Aside from asking for references, you can also ask to see completed projects. This could help give you a better feel for the style of the person you are considering hiring.
